The Northern Ireland Executive and Health Minister Robin Swann have jointly announced their support for a comprehensive ban on smoking in public places and vehicles. This move aligns with the Westminster bill's goals of phasing out smoking throughout the United Kingdom.
The Department of Health has outlined that a new Order will be implemented to enforce the ban, which will cover a range of settings including enclosed public spaces, workplaces, and vehicles used for public transportation or carrying multiple passengers.
